Children’s Ministries

Nursery
We are very thankful to say that our nursery is a growing and thriving ministry of our church.  We provide care for newborns all the way through three years of age for every service.  Loving and caring lady volunteers allow you to be able to enjoy the church services, knowing that your child is being cared for by our nursery staff.

Sunday School Christ centered teaching, fun-filled enthusiasm, and exciting activities, are just a few ways to describe this ministry.  We have Sunday School classes for 2 yr. olds to the sixth grade.  Your children will not want to miss this exciting part of every Sunday!  Come join us every week at 10:00 am.

Junior Church We have four exciting and fun-filled junior churches: 3–4 year olds, K5, 1st–3rd grade, and 4th–6 th grade.  All of these classes have capable and willing teachers and helpers.  The focal point of each class is the teaching of Bible stories to the children.  However, we also have opportunity to play Bible games, sing songs, and win prizes!  Your kids will love it and you will too, as you will be able to enjoy our Morning Church Service while your children enjoy an exciting service designed just for their age group.

Kings Kids Kings Kids is an action packed hour and a half program that challenges and enhances the minds of children.  We meet every Wednesday night during the school year from 6:45 pm to 8:15 pm.  Children from ages 3 to 6th grade can be a part of the excitement.  Every child has an opportunity for fun through singing, game time, and earning Kings Kids Bucks for our monthly store.  They are encouraged to learn verses and are challenged by a thirty-minute Bible lesson from the King James Bible.

Youth Ministry

The youth ministry at West Florida Baptist Church is not just about teenagers; it is about changing teenagers‚ lives!  The focus is not on the program or having a good time, (although both have an important part).  The focus is on teaching teenagers that nothing in life is more important than serving Jesus Christ!  Exciting activities, trips to Atlanta and Gatlinburg, Youth Camp, and Youth Conference, as well as weekly soul-winning, help teenagers realize how fun it is to be in the service of the Lord!  Come and experience for yourself a great time in a Christ centered atmosphere.

Bus Ministry

Exciting!  Fantastic!  These are just a few words that describe our bus ministry.  Every week we drive our buses into the community and bring boys and girls (and adults too!), to Sunday School and Church.  We meet every Saturday morning and visit different neighborhoods throughout Milton and Pace.  On Sunday we take the buses and pick those people up!  We have an exciting time playing games, singing songs, memorizing the Bible, and listening to a challenge from God‚s Word.  Annual activities include: Watermelon Sunday, Water Gun Sunday, World's Largest Banana Split Sunday, Birthday Sunday, and our annual big event—Fall Festival Sunday.  This ministry is a great soul-winning ministry, as we have seen many saved and baptized throughout the years.  Our desire is to reach WHOLE families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Singles Ministry

Just out of High School?  Currently attending college?  Not married?  We have a Sunday School Class just for you- Singles at the Cross.  This class will challenge the young and single to live a life that is well pleasing to Christ.  Regularly scheduled activities encourage class unity and fellowship.  Please come join us as we strive to serve the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind.

Adult Sunday School Classes

Joshua Generation
In this Sunday School class for married couples under thirty, you will find strong biblical teaching about marriage, the home, and how to raise godly children.  This class challenges young couples to have their hearts and lives in tune with God and His Word.  Regularly scheduled class activities, provide times of refreshing and fellowship.  Come join our class as we live this truth, “As for me and my house we will serve the LORD.”

Berean Class
This Sunday School class consists of young married couples who are over thirty.  This class will search deep into the scriptures so as to challenge each member of the class to have a closer walk with Christ.  Teachings about spiritual growth are a highlight of this class.  The goal includes training young couples to serve the Lord wholeheartedly, as a family.  Come join us as we follow this truth, “They received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily.”

Maranatha Class
Bible teaching and Christ honoring singing are earmarks of the Maranatha Sunday School Class.  Consisting of the middle aged to Senior Citizens, the class participates in activities that include food and fellowship.  Praying and caring for each other is one of the strong traits you will find in this class.  On the third Sunday of each month, several of our class members go to the Sandy Ridge Nursing Home where we sing and preach to the residents there.  COME and join us!

Ladies Only Sunday School Class

This class meets every Sunday morning and consists of ladies who are out of college and have families of their own.  This class thrives on reaching out to those who may have or are going through divorce or a family struggle.  Come join us as we strive to find hope and comfort from God’s Word on a weekly basis!

Discipleship Training

We believe in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.”

It is our privilege and responsibility to tell people the truth that Jesus saves, and then begin to disciple them, or train them, in the truths of the Word of God.  The Daily in the Word manual allows our church to teach people how to have a consistent, daily walk with God.  Christianity is based upon a relationship with Jesus Christ, and the only way to develop that relationship after a person is saved is to spend time DAILY in the Word of God- the King James Bible.
           
We would count it a great honor and privilege to share with you how you can grow in your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.  Discipleship training will not only help you grow spiritually, it will also strengthen the spiritual maturity of the church.  Please contact the church if you have any further questions about growing in your daily walk with the Lord.

Military Ministry

This ministry began several years ago with just a few contacts.  Each week our church van makes its way to Pensacola NAS, where we pick up any interested young men and women.  After the morning service, a lunch is provided by our church members, for all those involved in the military ministry.  Many other activities are made available to the military personnel such as fishing, family picnic’s, fish fry’s, and any church related activity.  Come join us as we strive to reach the men and women that protect us, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Missions

We believe that the heart of God is missions!  God said in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”  God is concerned that people come to a saving knowledge of His Son, Jesus Christ. 

We practice Faith Promise giving.  We support just under a 100 missionaries and missionary projects.  All this support comes through the people in our church, giving by faith to missions, above what they already give in tithes and offerings.  We believe the Lord blesses a church that gives sacrificially to that which concerns His heart the most, and God’s blessings has definitely evident upon our church!
