ITM Parent Newsletter

SO, YOU’RE THE PARENT OF A TEENAGER, HUH?

Congratulations! You have one of the most important (and sometimes the most difficult) jobs on the planet.

We know your job isn’t always easy, but here’s what we want you to know– we’re here to help in any way that we can. Sure, we’re a “youth” ministry, but teenagers aren’t the only people we care about. We care about you too.

No matter how connected you are with our church, this Parent Newsletter will show you some of the ways that we care for and serve you and your child. Thanks for letting us be another voice in the life of your teenager. Your trust and partnership mean a lot to us.
ITM Parents,

We’ve made it to the final stretch of the school year! As your calendars fill up with end-of-year programs, field days, awards ceremonies, and an occasional frantic search for that missing permission slip, we just want to say… you're doing amazing, sweetie.

This month is packed with celebrations, memory-making, and possibly a few tears (ours or the kids’, depending on how much caffeine we’ve had). From wrapping up the year with a bang to gearing up for an awesome summer, we’ve got lots in store.

And just think: in just one month, you’ll be trading school drop-offs for pool floaties and packing lunches for hearing "I'm bored" on a loop.
So buckle up, grab your sunscreen and your calendar, and let’s make these last few weeks the best yet!

Next Gen Sunday - April 27th

Next Gen Sunday is Coming Up!

We’re gearing up for an exciting Next Gen Sunday on April 27th, and we can’t wait to see how God works through our students! Here’s what you need to know as we prepare together:

Wednesday Practice (April 23)
  • Let’s plan to start promptly at 7:15 PM.
  • This will be a short run-through — just the opener and a few highlights.
  • Please be on time so we can honor everyone’s schedules!

Sunday Morning (April 27)
  • Musicians: Arrive by 6:30 AM
  • Congregational Vocal Team: Be there by 6:45 AM
  • Everyone else on platform: Ready to go by 7:15 AM

We are planning to lead in all three services as a full group (unless otherwise updated), so bring your energy and come prayed up. This is going to be such a special opportunity for our students to lead and our church to be encouraged!
Let’s go, Next Gen!

Upcoming Sermon Information

“JESUS IS”

Over the next few weeks, our students will be diving into a new message series titled “Jesus Is”—a powerful look at who Jesus says He is and what that means for our faith today. Based on His own “I AM” statements, each week we’ll explore a different aspect of Jesus' identity—His love, truth, presence, and saving power. Our goal is to help students not only understand who Jesus is but to also take ownership of their faith and share it with others.

WEEK 1: Jesus Is Love
Jesus is the Good Shepherd who loves us sacrificially.
Family Challenge: Share one way you’ve seen God’s love this week. Then do something loving for someone outside your home.

WEEK 2: Jesus Is Truth
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. His truth brings freedom.
Family Challenge: Ask each person to share a question they have about faith. Talk through it using Scripture.

WEEK 3: Jesus Is Always With Us
Jesus is the Vine—He helps us grow when we stay connected to Him.
Family Challenge: Choose a 5-minute daily devotional to do together this week.

WEEK 4: Jesus Is Our Savior
Jesus gives new life—He doesn’t just improve us, He saves us.
Family Challenge: Share your salvation story with your family. If someone hasn’t made that decision, open the door for conversation.

Upcoming Events & Announcements

Our teens are taking over (in the best way)! They’ll be leading worship, sharing testimonies, reading Scripture, and officially launching our Camp Fundraiser. Bring your best “proud parent” smile—and maybe a few tissues. Check out the event link for all the details.

Next Gen Sunday

Guess what? It’s officially summer vacation, and that can only mean one thing—it’s time to unleash the chaos with our legendary Survivor Games! This year, we’re bringing in water - A LOT of water - and the Santa Rosa Fire Department to help us create the ultimate water day masterpiece. Come dressed to get wet…it’s gonna be EPIC. Please pre-register here:

Summer Survivor

  • Promotion Sunday – June 1

It’s moving day (no U-Haul required)! Students entering 9th grade will officially level up to High School Ministry, and incoming 6th graders will be welcomed into our Middle School Ministry family. 🎉

If your teen hasn’t signed up yet—now’s the time! This camp is packed with powerful messages, awesome activities, and memories that last way longer than their favorite meme.

  • Summer Car Wash Fundraiser – June 28

We’re asking every student in our youth group to partner together for our Missions Trip Fundraiser. Whether they’re scrubbing tires or holding signs, this is a chance to come together, serve as a team, and help send our friends to Honduras with prayer and support. Let’s show our community what it looks like when the body of Christ comes together for a purpose greater than ourselves.
